Holy Week Worship Schedule

Agape meal and Lord's Supper

Thursday, April 17 at 6:30 PM
Meet in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring simple finger foods or snacks for 10 people. (suggestions are sandwiches, cookies, cheese and crackers, fruit, etc.) Afterwards, we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper while seated at our tables. You are invited to participate in this simple and moving commemoration of Christ’s last supper with His disciples. Childcare provided.

Friday, April 18 at 8:00 PM
The word “Tenebrae” means darkness. The purpose of the service is to impress upon worshipers the terrible reality of sin which caused our Savior to die for us. There are a variety of acceptable traditions regarding the ancient office of Tenebrae, but all use the progressive extinguishing of candles to commemorate the sufferings and death of Jesus. The service will include extinguishing candles so that it will conclude in total darkness. A rough cross fashioned from the Chrismon Tree will be draped in black. Taizé songs will be woven into the service with string and wind instruments to accompany the singing. This powerful and moving service may not be developmentally appropriate for our youngest children. Childcare provided.
